Vashon restaurants serve up fresh schedules and menus
By Milo Carr, Content & Social Media Editor
Quarantine has seriously impacted some of our favorite island eateries, and it can be a bit difficult to broadcast changes in hours or menus. To prevent the disappointing realization that a go-to restaurant has changed its hours yet again and a trip into town was for nothing, here is a helpful guide that should keep you updated.
Island Queen
Open five days a week, Thursday through Monday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Their up-to-date menu can be found on their website, vashoniq.com, where customers can even place an order for pick-up. Although there is no indoor seating, there is a nice patio area on the left side of the building.
Green Ginger
Throughout the pandemic, Green Ginger’s hours have stayed the same. Open every day but Monday, they operate from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and are currently only doing takeout orders. You can call ahead or walk in to place your order, and although they do not have an official website, you can find their menu online on Zomato.
Cafe Luna
Tucked between Vashon Bikes and Soleil Massage, this cozy cafe is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Cafe Luna is currently only doing takeout, and their menu can be found on their Google Overview page. Like Island Queen, the cafe has a nice patio area where one can quietly enjoy their beverage.
The Rock
This island classic is currently doing curbside pickup only, and customers can find their menu and pickup times on their website, pizzarockisland.com. They are closed Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday, but give customers the option to pre-order food up to a week in advance!
O Sole Mio
Known to many as “Mario’s”, O Sole Mio is doing both takeout and dine-in. Like Island Queen and The Rock, customers have the option to order online from their website, osolemiovashon.com. They are open seven days a week from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
While island restaurants have been able to quickly adapt to this strange situation, it is important to remember to be kind and patient. Stay safe, and happy munching!
