Junior

17 Years Old

Second Year on the Riptide Staff

I decided to join the Riptide my sophomore year at VHS and have never regretted my decision. Writing has always been fun for me and I was looking for a way of improving it when I joined. I have also pursued photography as a hobby since sixth grade, so I saw the Riptide as a way of improving my skills and broadening my realm of expertise. I am currently the Director of Photography in the Riptide program, which means I am in charge of gathering and taking photos for the newspaper as well as oversee our Broadcast program. I also write articles for the program because I believe that written journalism is a very useful skill to have in life.

I might want to pursue photojournalism or something that involves video work as a career, so this program has helped me to discover more about my passions and has helped me come closer to manifesting them.

Apart from journalism, I enjoy soccer, piano and my own personal photography.
